its alright, dont worry.
I remeber when working for Toyota in Australia on of the Jap manufacturers released a car with over 300BHP straight from the factory.
I knew about the gentlemens 276 agreement in Japan so it shocked me too. Since then others have also broken the rule.
I cant find anything on it but i am aware that the rule exisited. Perhaps they just broke it for the cars the exported to Australia. In Australia you can buy a Mazda MX5 turbo brand new. They were selling them at the motor show I did for Toyota.
Jap cars are more popular there than here. Sydney is like Gran Turismo at night with all the Mines, Toms, etc running around!

Yeah, exports were over 280- the USA supra had 305bhp as standard, ours had 326bhp (aside from a shitload of better gear), but then, the yanks and japs had the aero, which some idiot in toyota assumed the europeans wouldn't like.
Remember the 350Z has between 270-280bhp and that's a global car.
The Skyline R34 GTR has around 330bhp as standard, although it is quoted as 280bhp. Bizarrely the Skyline GTS-T is also quoted as 280bhp, despite having one less turbo! Who they were trying to fool is anyones guess.
Also, I think the NSX has around 300 (also quoted as 280bhp).
