Mitsubishi Push / Pull clutches

Could someone clear things up in my head about the two styles of Mitsubishi clutches. Does push and pull refer to how the clutch slave acts on the release fork and the release bearing still moves towards the flywheel to break the drive, or is it to do with how the release bearing acts on the pressure plate???

The Evo engine in my Proton hatch has a slave plunger that pushes against the clutch arm. That amr then pushed the release bearing towards the engine, thereby dissengaging the friction plate.

This is all 4wd drivetrain.
