I have just bought my first nissan 350Z and its great, the only issue i have is the bite point of the clutch. It is very high, and i mean right at the top! Is this normal for these cars???

Also what is the best cold air induction kit to go on? Is it best sticking with a jap make..or U.S...thoughts please...

Also can anyone recommend a quality exhaust system to replace the original, these are the only 2 mods im interested in really, and want to make sure i get the best one's

Lastly...does anyone know of a quality independant Nissan specialist/Jap specialist that will be cheaper to take my 350 to, than a main dealer??? I am based in Bristol

Any help or advice would be much appreciated, as i come from a BMW background, and know fairly little about these motors!

Thanks biggrin

Suggest you ask on either of these:

www.nissansportz.com

or

www.350z-uk.com

I can't answer the question about the intake or exhaust as my 350Z is running on stock items.

But the clutch does not sound right. The bite point of mine is somewhere in the bottom third of the pedal travel.
So, with yours it may be low fluid level/air in the system or just need adjustment. However, the clutch itself can be a weak point on some 350Z.

1) Air intake - JWT pop charger is a popular replacement because it makes a nice noise. Apparently loses a little bit of power though. I picked a better panel filter (HKS) instead.
2) Exhaust - loads of options, depends on how loud/how expensive you want. Japanese options (HKS, Blitz, Amuse) are very expensive due to exchange rate, but there are options down to a few hundred quid (with quality to match).
There are three parts to consider:
i) Cats - sports cats are lighter and less restrictive, so will provide a little more noise and more power (with a remap), c.£550.
ii) Y-pipe - if you're going to change this, make sure you pick the right on. Mine is Japspeed (£200) and is quite raspy.
iii) Backbox - depends on how loud you want it. Mine (Bitz Nur-Spec) is very loud, but something like a Milltek is more akin to standard.

Best advice I can give you is to do lots of research before spending your money!
