Folks, I've just purchased a Toyota Corolla T Sport that's been sat about for a year or so, hance battery was dead. I've replaced the battery in the fob which was dead.

I've replaced the car battery, car turns over but doesn't fire and there seems to be no spark, I'm assuming the immobiliser is active for some reason?, any idea's??.

Thanks

Have you put fresh fuel in it?
Can you check the the coil packs are in the right positions?
May be worth giving it a small service before trying again.

Why was it stood for a year? Why was the previous owner selling?

Thanks, I've taken the head off the engine and it turns out the head is very healthy but the bores on the block are shot, very scored, I think the piston rings may have cooked and disintegrated.

The bores on the 2zz are coated which means a simple hone is out of the question, therefore I need a new block or sleeves. Anyone any ideas?.

Cheers
