I had my 05 STi remapped by a reputable mapper a few weeks ago. After a few short journeys the emissions warning light came on so I took it off to the dealer and spent about £600 in labour and parts getting it fixed. A few days later the emissions warning light came on again so back to the dealer. They cleared the error codes and it was fine again for a few drives but has come on again now and is running rich. Any ideas as to what the problem maybe?

Find out what the error codes mean. They should be able to tell you what the culprit is.

best to ask the mapper, though its highly unusual for maps on the 01-05 cars to cause emmision lights, could be a faulty lambda.

Sounds like your mapper might have forgotten to sort the rear Lambda sensor DTC through the mapping. I presume you've made exhaust changes at some stage prior to the mapping. Maybe you've gone full decat or sports cat only.

Simple fix to switch this DTC off and better than being ripped off by the dealer that in fairness shouldn't have charged you £600 when there was probably nothing wrong with the car. Fecking typical from a dealer that doesn't really know WTF they are doing although to be fair not all dealers are like that.

If you'd gone back to the mapper and told him what's happening he would have realised what was wrong and very quickly sorted it FOC i would imagine.

I presume from what you're saying it's the rear lambda sensor, i could be wrong. I would love to know what the dealer fixed to charge you £600. Did you ask??

The fact that the engine light came on after the dealer repair might have rung alarm bells that the dealer actually didn't fix anything or fixed something that wasn't broken.

Like Charlie said....Go back to your mapper!!

Deffo talk to mapper could be a simple missed turning it off.

What error code exactly?
