Andy, are you bailing out already?
Not really sure it didn't work with the dog as he just didn't get comfortable with the sloping roof so I bought an R class. However the FX just does everything so well, I haven't advertised it, but I did offer it to Dave. I'm under pressure from SWMBO so I probably will advertise it soon

DRLs not cheap but include a bit of bodywork - group buy?

Collected Weds, not the best day for the hop over the pennines in driving rain and wind but got back fine, car is immaculate and does all expected plus a bit more (handling is much better than expected) I particulary like the round view camera makes putting it in the white car park lines much easier and the speed camera announcement (set to max vol) only moot point is the mirrors dont turn in on locking.
Edit - Plate will get me pulled but I didnt ask for this spacing!

A couple of quick observations:
- Steering wheel leather is horrible not befitting a quality product and not even as nice as the Murano
- Throttle take up and let off is harsh, maybe a learning curve for me and it but its severe
- I have circa 1mm play in the drivers seat, coupled with sharp throttle its annoying
- Best presented used car I have ever had hard to believe its been used
- Parcel shelf is a work of deep thought
- Cameras are superb and hard to imagine life without them now
I have just had the drivers seat subframe replaced under warranty due to slight movement and squeaks.
The rear parcel shelf design is baffling!
I think it is a characteristic of the car for it to feel a little but on/off when using the throttle combined with a little bit of mechanical lash. The gearbox can sometimes get a little confused on light throttle openings to find the right gear. I had my gearbox settings refreshed at the last service but it has made no difference.

It will be interesting to see how you guys get on with the ICR extended warranty through Auto Protect.
Mine is not due until November, but have had a quote from WD for £650, which is their top policy with wear and tear.
I use them for the wife's 1 series and they seemed okay.
Auto Protect seem to have a horrible reputation though if you do a search.
Mind you WD also have their detractors, but I think this is on older cars where the wear and tear sliding scale kicks in.

Problem with computer switch.
The switch, which moves the programs on the computer seems to be playing up on mine.
When I try to move between mpg and the other options the switch seems to be sticky and the programs keep skipping through. I really have to play with the switch to get it to stop at a program.
Anyone else have this problem?

If its sticky juice in the horizontal switch try a little WD40 dripped in The switch, which moves the programs on the computer seems to be playing up on mine.

This steering wheel is just not acceptable, the leather trim I mean and specifically the quality of the leather. I was in the murano today with its nice feel and perforated grip section made me realise the fx wheel feels poverty spec leather. I have a large leather trim shop locally but I'm not sure they deal with the public, I have asked and will update.

Steering wheel aside, how does the Murano measure up? Thinking of getting one at the moment.Mk2 murano is THE bargain car, I love it as I have said many times on here I cannot see why it didn't catch on, yes the CVT isn't to everyone's taste but I don't mind it, the ride on its balloon tyres is lovely, the driving position perfect and the kit amazing - tax is full hit and we get 22mpg urban 30 on a run but servicing is nothing and insurance is cheap.
We went to Shropshire the other day - we took the murano not the fx.
That doesn't mean I'm off the FX in a week but the murano us a true family car albeit a little tight boot wise but the FX is a sports car with a big body - a FX is not a V8 Murano they are very different cars.
Paid £10.700 from a dealer fir a 2008 car with 2 years nissan warranty and 2 years servicing it needed no work apart from a polish.

Just a quick post to provide a bit of balance. I received my FX back after having a new windscreen installed at Infiniti Reading. It took a couple of days longer than anticipated (in their defence I did tell them time was not van issue as I have another car) but otherwise the service was impeccable; car collected and returned efficiently, calls returned and kept Iinformed all the way through.
naturally after T5's post I was a tad concerned and thus thought I'd post my experence.
