In my 40s (just! - at the wrong end). Got my first Aston a week ago!
I was thinking the same when reading Shmee's post - when I was his age I considered myself lucky to be tooling round in a ten year old Mk3 Cortina 1600L!
The youth of today don't know how lucky they are etc etc ...

I'm going to admit to being 58, although I don't feel it! I was very happily in TVRs for 30ish years, until I saw the first pics of the V8V and knew I had to have one. Immediately sent off a letter of intent (they wouldn't accept a deposit at the time) and took delivery of my first (of 3 now, a coupé followed by 2 roadsters) in 2006.
I've always loved Astons, but was never smitten until the introduction of the V8V.

21 when I got the DB9 last year, insurance is a fortune but worth every penny
I think I'm most intrigued that as a young person you chose a DB9, did you spend time comparing DB9 v V8V or what was the thinking? At 23 I couldn't see myself driving such a car so I'd be interested to know.

I did look at the V8V, but I have always prefered the look of the DB9. I can see where your coming from as the DB9 seems a bit more of a mature Aston by comparison, but the V8V has never really appealed to me in the same way. At 23 I couldn't see myself driving such a car so I'd be interested to know.
I also looked at a V12V briefly but I wanted the TT2 gearbox and had my heart set on a convertible.

I'm 30, got the Aston at 29. And George, you make me look old. You're either a very enterprising chap or from a lucky background! Either way I say good luck to you sir, who knows what you'll be in at 30 at this rate...
Thanks Probably a bit of both, or so I like to think so.To have an Aston as 29 you are obviously doing alright yourself
I doubt I will ever progress to any other brand if I'm honest. All modern supercars seem so dull and lack any class by comparison I think I will stay put.
