congratulations.....one point though....why would you have issues already , why do dealers let these cars go out with issues?...surly they test drive them pre delivery first?.....still thats all negative...enjoy your car and many miles of silly grin on face.....

Interesting. I went to test that car a little over a week ago, but decided it was not for me. However you may recall they also had a 4.7 car as well. Well they don't any more because it is in my garage, I also collected late on Thursday. I hope you have had as good s weekend as I have with your car. I also have one or two minor issues which I trust can be solved easily. The prep was only reasonable. My car had less than 9k miles but I have just spent 10 hour or so cleaning on polishing and am not half way through. Good enough for them t deliver, but not good enough for me.

Would be interested in hearing what your issues are.

Nice guys to deal with I thought though.

We all collected cars that Thursday!
My same thoughts regarding the preparation, my car wasn't prepared very well at all. I too had to spend hours cleaning the car, I wasn't expecting this from an Aston dealer.
The next day I also bought 14 month old Vauxhall Insignia for my company staff (with 15,000 miles), I collected it personally. This car was immaculate inside and out, as if it was brand new. This car looked absolutely amazing. Great service from a Vauxhall garage on a car the fraction of the price ?!

Overall I had great service from this dealer; Salesman was lovely, they sorted many little bits on the car for me and where great to deal with. It was the car preparation that let the side down, the valeting guy needs a shake!
I would certainly recommend them to anyone looking for an Aston, but they need to change the valeting guy.

Mine is mostly just cleaning, although they must have painted the lower front valance and only when I cleaned by hand did I notice that there a some black swirls either on the paint or perhaps rubbed through to a black base coat. I am not sure which. I my excitement I also forgot to ask for the wind protector which had been taken out of the car and on reading the handbook it seems I should have 2 tracker tags as well. I will be speaking to them tomorrow.

Other then that, I had a good run out yesterday of around 120 miles but it needed a wash when I got back home again. With this wind it was such a dusty day. Going off to vac the interior out now.......

Hope you enjoy your car

Ian - Two Tracker Tags are promised but you will find most people, myself included, only have 1.

If you have the appropriate phone, ask the dealer to show you how to use it as a Tracker Tag also smile

I wondered how you were getting on with getting your issues fixed by the dealer? Afraid my experience is going from bad to worse.

As someone looking in as a potential purchaser this week's been interesting where dealers are concerned... if you don't mind me asking what sort of experiences have you had then?

I will reserve my comments until I make some progress this week on the issues, but a recommendation of the dealership is hanging in the balance.

I bought my V8 from Harston. The old dealer principle moved over to the next door Porsche garage. And most of the old team left. I bought my V12 elsewhere.

There's a no name/shame policy but happy to discuss further - PM me.

Don't be too shocked by the poor dealer prep, I've seen brand new cars that get handed over looking crap. Just how it goes I'm afraid.

Paddy, my point is they should not have to be. It does not take much to get some of these things right and I had expected better.

I completely understand what you are saying and i have said this to dealers and even the factory that the prep isnt good enough, especially on cars costing so much money.

Exactly. This is something which most of us take great pride in buying and the experience has the edge taken off when the car could have maybe 3 hours spent on a good clean and prep and make the whole thing so much more of meeting the desire the brand establishes. So much money is spent building the brand as aspirational, that to fall short is more than a disappointment. It starts to erode the good work done and lay doubts whether the quality matches the vision
