Hi all, i'm thinking about entering the V12 Vantage club, but wondered if anyone can provide me with their experiences/bills/reliabilty issues etc?

They look like amazing machines to own, and are not now far from being within the £80-90K scale.

(Also, anyone moved from a TVR to a V12V/V8V? - what have your experiences been? Although i'm not too keen on the V8, it would still be good to know your thoughts)

Thanks! smile

Try a search on "TVR" in this forum, you'll find lots of useful discussion and experiences. Many of us came here from TVRs. The FAQ is a good source of information too.

If you still have questions we'll be happy to help smile

See this thread. I think it answers most points. Feel free if you want any further up date.

Thanks guys (and girls!) - are there any specialist insurers out there that you can recommend?

There was a recent request for recommendations for insurers/insurance. If you search this forum with the search functionality on 'insur' you should find it....

I still have my Tuscan and owning an AM helps me appreciate both what TVR achieved with their resources and also what you get for the extra money from AM.

I reckon a V8V won't be much of a step up in straight line performance (it is in other areas though) but the V12 is. It also has a very different character. I see it as very similar to the Sagaris in concept only one developed with much bigger resources and it shows. The end result is unique, almost a shrink wrapped 599 only much better looking. It hits the spot for me in virtually every department. I wouldn't swap mine for a 458 in a million years.

Thanks for all the replies, been very handy.

I would love to keep my T350, but realistically, I would be pushed for room for two cars, i'd have to keep both maintained, insured etc, etc, and i'd probably always opt to take the Aston out wherever i went! So i will sell it.

Will probably get the V12V later this year... will keep you posted biggrin

I think a TVR and Vantage would be a pretty good pairing, but at least one of them needs to be a ragtop... I am starting to look at Tamoras at the moment, price has come down a lot...

I went from a Tuscan to a DB9 in a very roundabout way... DB9 is very, very refined by comparison but not a bad car for it smile

Excitement just comes in a different way!

we had a Sagaris and Vantage...and Elise ...for a few years anyway...in the end 3 x 2 seaters were just not practical enough

the Sagaris went in the end frown ...due to lack of use and financially it was the best one to sell at the time due to their slow depreciation

we do still fancy another Tuscan, loved the first one ...its a good combination of hard/soft roof car, with a good boot for touring

I think you fall in love with the particular characters of certain cars....British ones anyway smile
