After a couple of pints over a nice lunch and drive out with the OH I returned and wanted to quickly wash the car. As ever with the nice weather I ended up spending a bit of time on it...

Snow foam with the Karcher
Mags Drying Towel with Mags Last Touch Spray
Autoglymn Paint Renovator / Super Resin in places which required it
Autoglym Tar & Insect Remover
Chemical Guys Tyre Gel

Quite a nice wet look by the end - Anyone else spend a few hours this weekend on the motor?

Looking good mate.

I would bin the megs drying towel though, wont be long before it starts marring the paint.

Interesting comment bout the megs towel. Can you elaborate?

What else is an alternative?

Well, its well known in the detailing game that megs drying towels start to lose their softness and then cause marring in the paint, plus they are not that absorbant to begin with. Ask any detailer if they use one and i bet not one does.

Whatever comes into contact with the cars paint needs to be a soft as possible, so thats why most of use use these now:

I would get a couple of those and at 11 quid, you cant go wrong really.

Plus if your car has a decent layer of protection, such as a wax or sealant, there shouldnt be a lot to dry up anyway. One tip is to use a watering can or an open hose to do a final rinse. This way the water will sheet off the car better.

You can always take a look in the FAQ section and see my cleaning and product guide for tips on what to use.

I was very disappointed by my Megs drying towel and after some research went for a Twin Pack of Sonus Waffle Weave Towels , which have far better absorption qualities, are softer and much easier to wring out.

I recently bought a Karcher and the snow foam... however I am having little work getting it going. I have tried twice now, and have ended up with a minimal amount of foam, for a few seconds only!

Could you tell me whatr I am doing wrong please...?

I fill the karcher reservoir with the snow foam liquid..(have done this twice...first time diluted, second time neat out of the bottle).

Then put the adjustable spray nozzle on the karcher and spray... ... when on a light pressure I got some foam, but only a few seconds worth... if putting it n high pressure, just water!

I know this should be simple - but I must be missing someting?!?!?!

A snow foam lannce is what you are missing:

The karcher on its own wont do the job.

The ones that come with the washer aren't up to the job, as said, get the proper lance!!!

My megs towel is quite new and seems to working well but I'll take note of the comments above and pick up another. Beats using a hydraflexi blade as I hear they aren't great for paint

They are great for glass and as a tool, they remove water really well, but they will scratch the he'll out of your paint.
