So I've tried looking through the classifieds section but the price variation is so large it seems impossible to get a value both on my car and my proposed replacement. I want to upgrade from my DB7 VV to a DB9 in the very near future but am struggling to get some idea of it's value both in terms of private sale and dealer PX. Any pointers would be appreciated

Thanks
Pete

Pete. I can "cap" your car for you if you like, ie look in the dealers own used car price guide. This will give retail, private and px values. Just pm me your reg and mileage.

Mako, can I be as cheeky as to ambush this thread and get the same?!

I'm looking to sell my 06 V8V and the wife's Z4 to get a V8V roadster! You mind if I PM you too?

Thanks.

Vauxhall offer a "Value My Car" service that gives access to Glass's guide.

Will give you a pretty good view of how the trade views the vehicles.

ETA: Oops - doesn't have Aston Martin (but does have AC!)

Anybody else have opinions on values I can see it's somewhere between 23K and 34K but thats quite a range! Am looking at getting a DB9 in the 39-43K bracket and value on my car to a dealer helps me decide If I am selling privately, just trading in, using cash to make up difference or part financing.

Got it in my head that I want to get this before my 40th which is in around 6 weeks so clocks ticking!

For anyone giving there opiion on mine it's a 2001 (y) Vantage Volante with 37K full service although last few years at a Scpecialist. Coils/Disks/Pads all replaced last service. Sport Exhaust, Heated Screen, Seats etc. Tracker fitted. 3rd Party SatNav/BlueTooth/Ipod. Recently reconditions wheels - Any ballpark valuation please!?

Well a dealership told my my car is worth 18/19K, but if I go look into the classifieds the cheapest DB7 Vantage Volante is 29K, my car has a loy going for it, FSH, low mileage, manual, immaculate wheels and bodywork, tracker, sports exhaust, etc.

Is there any sensible explanation for such a massive price difference?

Bearing in mind I'm looking at putting more cash towards another car, is it too much for me to expect my car to be valued somewhere in the middle of these two figures to a dealer??

Looks like I'll be going the private car sales route over easter when I just wanted an easy life!

I doubt if a main dealer would be interested in a DB7 VV and that means they would be looking for underwritting values......non main dealer would probably try and shift it in house.......cira 40K for a DB9 is going to buy you bottom end of the heap.....47k to 50K will get you a very proper car

thanks for the repsonse, what is meant by bottom of the heap, I drive around 4000 miles a year so not too bothered about a high mileage car as I will no doubt bring back down to average. It seems these cars are well cared for with service history so there's little risk of getting something that is a mess. Surely the bottom of the heap is still quite highly located in this respect and for me, trying to make the reasonably large jump from DB7 to DB9 the extra 8K is a bit too much as is the 4-7K difference between dealer quoted value on mine and prices online.

Pete - at this level, whatever you get will be beautiful. You have already shown a sound AM knowledge in your current vehicle.

Bottom of the heap is a subjective casual phrase - there is no real definition.

Some would argue that £47-£50K is still 'bottom of the heap' for a DB9.

Lol, huge unfounded and generalisation of the the current market. There are many reasons that an advertised car is put up at below average market value.
Just because its at a lower price than similar spec cars doesn't mean its a dog. There are bargains to be had right now.
