Whilst replying to another thread where I was asked how my car was going. I immediately replied, "so much better in the warmer weather"! This without thinking.

So is this a creditable response due to thinner oil etc, or just maybe because we all feel better in the Spring/Summer months.

To me, my car feels smoother, gearchange slicker, exhaust note more resonant or is it my imagination?

Di

The sun is shining, all seems right with the world, you enjoy driving more, so you end up going faster. Roads are obviously drier, warming up, your tyres are getting to a proper working temperature, you get more grip, therefore you go faster round bends you've spent the past few months negotiating carefully.
So yep its definately the thinner oil biglaugh

/maybe just your mood as the sun is out, the roads are dry and you can open her up a bit smile

Ironically cold air gives you slightly more power (very noticable on a turbo car!)

The car might be loosening up with mileage, but the part I love is being able to drive with the windows open to hear the exhaust even better.

Just been out to play in mine tonight, and realised that in 1,200 miles I haven't had the B&O system on long enough to actually finish the first CD, and never tried playing anything from my iPhone. That 30,000kw under the bonnet beats anything B&O can do with 1,000 w

Mine definitely feels better when it's warmer. I liken mine to an old man. Miserable with achy joints and a tendency to want to stay indoors during the colder months; suddenly finds a new lease of life when it's warm and those achy joints (read stiff gear change) suddenly melt away.

Gee, not sure what you guys and gals are on about as it's nerarly always sunny and warm here (except when it's raining and flooding). Put a bridge in over the oceans and drive on down under. idea

My previous car always felt stronger on those crisp winter mornings.

My car goes much faster in the few days after I've cleaned it. Always been the case. Presuambly, after cleaning, the paint work is smoother, there is less air friction and hence the car goes faster.

That's what I tell my boys anyway.

As has been said, it will make very slightly less power due to warm air, but oil is up to temperature slightly sooner making short drives more fun!

More grip makes you push on a little harder with less risk, that's probably what it is. What a time to stick my car into Chiltern for some work (2 weeks already!), could be the only summer we have. Targa 964 meeting my needs at the moment but it's hardly the same frown

Di... time for another Aston PH run? This weather looke like it'll be here for at least a week!
