Afternoon all...

Well, after 16 years of Lotus ownership I've finally bought an Aston Martin V8 Vantage...to be picked up next Thursday. Have wanted one for a while, and am now finally in the position of not just being able to afford the car, but also the knowledge that I can (hopefully!) afford to run it as well...

Thanks to everyone who has provided information on this site that I've found invaluable when looking for the cars; I've not posted before as I've managed to find everything I've needed within the posts...I finally decided though it was time to stop lurking in the shadows and introduce myself.

The car? Toro red with black leather/red stitching interior, fully loaded with all the gizmos - satnav, premium audio, folding mirrors, heated screen, heated seats, parking sensors etc etc

Can't wait...just hope the weather holds out for next week...

Cheers

Paul

Congratulations!

A great choice of colour - my first V8V was an '06 car in that very colour, chosen after a visit to the factory and seeing one lone Toro Red car going around the production line. Loved it!

Always got compliments wherever it went....

Thanks guys...

Yep...was very lucky, would have been the spec I would have ordered if new. I have been looking for a while though...

Hever Castle sounds good. The trip down from Manchester will be worth it alone...

Congrats....There is nothing like an Aston...

Manchester? Where?

Hopefully not where I live as have to put the car under covers in a "secret squirrel" location out in the sticks so I am able to afford the insurance...time to move out to the sticks me thinks....

North Manchester - Littleborough area.

There's a great run round Rishworth/Ripponden off the M62 J22 not far from me that I used to do in the Elise...can't wait do do the same in the Aston...

Ah, must be good - no nice runs through Chorlton high street - although the local lads are appreciative....for me Scotland (minus the cameras) is always the best - that or Spain and of course Germany (had my V8 up to 145 on the Autobhan until I had to slow down 'cause the other half was looking a little stressed)...enjoy - definatley the best experiences I had after moving from 2 wheels to 4...

Ripponden -> Hollingworth Lake -> Newhey -> Blackstone Edge -> Barkisland?

I'm Halifax-based to regularly blatting around that area smile (and an ex-Elise owner redface )
