The rear grille on my Vantage is look a bit ropey. It looks like corrosion but its just dirt that is really hard to get off. Any tips for cleaning it, any particular products, perhaps jet wash?

Alternatively is it possible to easily remove it and clean it?

Thanks

Are you sure it's not corrosion?

No, its black underneath, just a bugger to clean as it accumulated winter road dirt. I suggested to the wife if I could take them off I'd stick them in the dishwasher biggrin

I just pressure wash mine as part of the cleaning of the whole car. Pressure not up too high, same pressure as for the rest of the car.

This is apparently a fairly comon issue - its rust. I had mine re-sprayed by the dealer.

Could be rust, mines going that way frown
Its easy to remove them
Undo the four bolts on the rear lip, drop it off and drop the three grills out.

I tried to remove mine but found the removal of the top bolts very difficult.
Seemed to have bolts behind the bumper near the cooler rad.Cleaned and re-sprayed in situ.

Hi Gary, what did you spray it with?

Right I had a look. Its no that easy. The rear lip comes off ok but then some of the bolts are behind the bumper, you have to take the bumper off to get to them. I thought it as going to be easy but the bolts you can see with the torx head are for the rear radiator.

As above I masked it all up and sprayed in place thanks for tip Gary beer. Looks much better now.
