Dashboard Rattle

I have a rattle on my V8V, under the passenger dashboard. It's driving me mad.

How do I open the dash and sort it out?

Similar to mine. Happens occasionally depending on the road surface, more of a vibration than a rattle though.

Try nipping the tyre warning box up directly under the glove box.

Sorry - when I say under the dashboard, I meant to say in it (i.e. under the dashboard cover).

Is The sound coming from near the windscreen , as the vents can become loose.

Same as Springbok mine seems to be in the dashboard. Sat nav was my first guess, I'll have another look at that and try the other suggestions as well. It's so intermittent it isn't driving me mad - yet. Replies much appreciated.

Mine was the leather covered "beam" that runs across the front of the dash (if pressed when squeaking/rattling it stopped).

Bit of talc between the joins cured it...

Inside the dash - definitely.

But how do you open it up and have a look?

Imperial Leather talc or just any old talc?

I had a rattle/squeak under the centre console near the satnav. Dealer sorted it out very quickly which was apparently a rivet rubbing the underneath of the console cover.
