I am curious as to whether Aston would sell the V12 as a crate engine. I know AMG engines for instance are available as stand alone purchases.. at a premium for sure..... but I've not seen any info regarding Aston. I sent out some emails to them inquiring but have not had a response as of yet.

Everything has its price, whether they'll supply over the counter without good reason (total engine failure or insurance claim) however, remains to be seen.

My guess would be not, what kind of warranty could they offer on it? Imagine what tou could put it in, Aston is all about being a so-called 'cool' brand these days...

However, Bamford Rose can make you one to order, or make you one that's better than a standard V12 wink

Why would anyone require just a brand new engine?

There is a DB7 V12 for sale on ebay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aston-Martin-DB7-V12-Eng...

There was a DBS engine for sale on there a while back, was just over £10k I think.

They just made contact with me. I (WE) would require more than one engine for this project so simply buying a unit from a salvage vehicle won't do ;-)
