Just noticed that my temp guage was only at the 1/4 point

Not sure where it should be.

What does your V8V temp guage site when warmed up?

It should be @ 3 O'Clock, and not move once fully warmed. Probably a dud thermostat. Had mine replaced under warranty, due to taking ages to warm up, then fluctuating depending on what speed I'm doing.

Sounds like your thermostat is shot. It's a common problem and stems from a design fault on the early thermostats. I have an 06 V8V and have just replaced the thermostat. The rubber seal around the thermostat 'plug' had begun to separate and was hence leaking even when closed. The new thermostat has an improved design of seal so hopefully will not separate after a few years. IMO AM should have made a recall for all the early V8's that had this original design of thermostat instead of just letting owners discover the problem for themselves.

After coming to work in it today, you're spot on. I'd be very concerned if it were at 9 O'Clock!

Took the car in today for the stat.

Get a call saying the car was ready however the front spring has broken frown. It apparently broke as they reversed the car out of the garage

So I will now be without the car over the weekend as they don't have a spring in stock and will not be able to do the job until Monday.
