Rick told me he gets between 200 and 600 emails a day from people all over the world making Aston Martin enquiries.

It normally takes a short while to get a reply.

Hi peter I have found your original emails (in my Spam I didn't check properly), I do get bogged down with emails and apologise for those I miss, It has been mentioned in the past I should concentrate on just possible customers and actual customers or delegate to someone else, this would cut down my workload but when I started I was determined to be as helpful as possible and I do enjoy what we do, So even if there will be no benefit to ourselves I will continue to do it this way,

If you do not get a reply from myself please ring We are generally available even in the evenings and at weekends, also because of the amount of phone calls we get and people saying they have tried to ring and not got through we are installing a second line plus divert on busy to a mobile and answering machines where we call back, just so people can get through to us, even if it is just for advice and have no intention of using us we will still help,

Balancing emails, the phones, customers at the workshop, and actually working on the cars is difficult and our aim is to give every single person our full attention this does take time and we do our best to get it right, Please be patient with us as doing it any other way would mean cutting corners and lowering our standards, neither of which I am prepared to do,

If we all started a thread about people/companies that haven't got back to our emails/phone calls immediately................well, there'd be a LOT of threads I imagine lol.

Agreed but DMS is a well talked about company in the AM section of Pistonheads and I know the owner frequents this forum so in this case the post worked as it gave me a better idea how the company operates re phone calls and emails.

Hopefully everyone is as tenacious as I am and if not and they read this thread and see that it is worth their while to be persistent smile

I do feel there has been more than a hint at sarcasm within this post and after being nothing more than helpful when ever I can for the first time I actually feel quite disappointed, I give advice freely and up to now it has been gracefully accepted, I am not required to post, help or advise I do it because I can and want too, if my input is either incorrect unhelpful or openly advertises my business I can see why this would upset other members,if it is not wanted not required then I can easily find other ways to spend my time,

Rick - please remove that thought from your mind.

My reading from the thread is one of genuine respect, and this is why you will be servicing my car in 7 days time.

Rick, you have helped me several times giving invaluable, free advice over the phone, to someone you've never met, let alone done any work for.

Best example is when I had locked myself out of the car and stupidly pressed the battery shutoff switch and shut the boot the morning after I had picked the car up ... I called the AM helpline and main dealer ... neither could help me .. got your details off here and after leaving a message with someone, you called me back within 10 minutes an talked me through it .... in less than 5 minutes you had me in the car and smiling again ... otherwise I'd have spent the whole weekend pig-sick. thumbup

You gave me advice pre purchase and when I had my early issues ... if the dealer hadn't rectified the car at their cost, it would have been going nowhere else other than DMS!!

No matter what you do chap, no matter how helpful you try to be, there's always going to be someone who'll criticise because 'they can' .... but REST ASSURED that your time effort and helpfulness is respected and VERY MUCH APPRECIATED by the vast majority. (To be fair to the OP, he has since been on and told the masses that it was worth the wait, fair play).

ANYWAY ... Speaking of advice ... Any ideas on how can I make mine go just that little bit faster?? ha ha!!! (Joking).

Rick don`t worry none of the regulars would give up BLT`s and a morning in Derby.I have a feeling on this site it is often IT people who do not have a way with words, forgive them for they know not what they do.
