I'm half-expecting some comedy responses along the line of not being so stupid, but...

I've got a 4 month old baby, and despite having sold up me previous sports car beforehand (thinking I was being sensible). I am getting serious car withdrawal symptoms and starting to look around at a suitable car for transporting a baby around - not talking about an everyday car, but something a bit special, but that will also take me plus wife and baby, plus all luggage/paraphernalia if we want to go away for a weekend (or longer).

Does anybody know if you can fit a collapsed pushchair in the boot of a DB9? I guess the easiest answer is to go and look at one, which I'm planning to do, but I wondered if there was anybody on here that does this already?

thanks
Richard.

Not quite a DB9 & baby but looking at chopping the late MY V8V for a newer DB9. Anybody recommend a booster seat for a 2 1/2 year old for the DB9?

(And if anyone is interested in a PX + cash then drop me a PM!)

A collapsed pushchair does fit into the boot of a DB9. Which proves my long held contention that the DB9 is a very practical family vehicle. Ooh hang on, wife is shouting out that I need to make clear that it is a stroller that fits, not a full blown pushchair.

Anyway, here is the proof.

Even if you can fit the stroller in the boot your chances of transporting the wife and baby in a DB9 , XKR or similar are basically nil.

The only serious car I can think of that will do the job is a Maserati Granturismo or a Mercedes CLK AMG , both of which have very usable back seats.

Porkers don't count smile

Thanks Simon - and thanks for the photo - our baby is still only 5 months old so on a bigger pushchair - from your photo it looks like ours won't fit - but I think a visit to the dealer must be in order!

I'm a long way off having to deal with a baby, but I was certainly under the impression that babies need about the space of a large hatchback for all their stuff wink

Also serious side effects, baby + car = messy...

Hi, just wondered how you got on with the pushchair db9 situation, I've got a baby on the way and while I bought a q7 to be sensible I am already struggling without something a bit more sporty, so the wife's getting the 4x4, but I need to know the 3 of us can still get out for the day, I know the 911 is no good and previously had a vantage so wondered if a db9 would be just the ticket

Cheers James

A rear-facing child seat will fit only with the front seat as far forward as it will go and the backrest angled forward. No room for a passenger.

This thread is all too familiar - my lad has just changed into forward facing and it just works in a DBS with a petite wife in the passenger seat . I tried his backward facing seat - no chance at all

Not really James, it's the size of the apparatus that knackers you here.

Until the Govt permits them to put ISOFIX in the boot then I would suggest an alternative approach smile

how about you (or an enterprising company) completely removing the rear seat and trim and affixing the isofix in the space created. Maybe create a space alongside for storing all the other stuff needed as well. You could keep all the trim somewhere safe and put it back in when needed.... Lets face it when are the back seats really used anyway.

If it is anything similar to Yeti's idea of removing the rear seats and creating a luggage space, then it is going to be ridiculously expensive to do.

That was WS though, and I think they planned to convert the whole rear to a DBS type. No other explantion for a £9k bill!
