In my V8VR I use my Bluetooth BlackBerry Bold 9700 as both the tracker device and also for standard Bluetooth connections.

My experience is that it's a bit patchy; as a tracker it always connects, but regularly it isn't connected on as a phone. You only discover this when you go to make a call (3 button presses on the wheel to make a connection) or receive one - the latter being slightly more irritating.

As of yet I haven't discovered a trend in why it sometimes connects and sometimes doesn't, I'd guess (without checking every time) that it's probably only not connected about 25% of the time but I'm wondering if this is just me, if it's a known issue or if I'm doing something wrong!?

Thanks

It's probably not a lot of help (beyond a problem shared is a problem halved and all that) but I have the exact same issue with my Blackberry 8520. I'm pretty sure this didn't happen until I got the phone set up for use as the tracker tag. I pairs up fine everytime with my other car so I don't think it's the phone.

I'm sure you know this, but you can just connect it once on the move at the press of a button which I tend to resort to if it doesn't connect automatically.

Looking forward to someone explaining this!

I believe I'm the same too that it's a result of setting up the phone to be the tracker too; maybe there is just a BlackBerry incompatibility in this context. I think mine worked fine before too although I only did that for 2 weeks or so.

I am aware of doing such things to remake the connection, but as I'm sure you have, when it's an incoming call that's only vibrating in your pocket (my phone is permanently quiet) you don't necessarily react quickly enough to connect it before they hang off!
