Hi,

I have an 07 Vantage Roadster.
Previous owner installed Parrot MKi9200. The screen is mounted in the cubbyhole between the driver and passenger seats and the 'remote' is mounted on the dash next to the start button. A lot of the time the remote does't seem to work unless I remove it from it's mounting and hold it. (I replaced the battery already) but it seems like when it is mounted on the dash it is not quite 'in range'.

Having researched on a couple Parrot forums it seems like a known issue. Just wondered if there is anything that can be done or anyone can recommend to get it to work more frequently when the remote is in it's mount on the dash?

Do you happen to know where the control unit is?

Do you have a Piano Black top cover or is it the metal trim?

Both of these may have an effect on range of the remote (433Mhz). However it should work quite happily within the confines of a Roadster, it's not that big!!

Try moving it horizontally away from the start button towards the steering column or over the top of the glovebox, to see if this has any effect. Astons can have high levels of electrical noise in them so this may also have an effect on the very weak radio signal from the remote.

It may be that the control box could be moved closer to the remote.

Please let me know if I can be of any help looking at the car.

Kind Regards,

James@Paralight

Thanks for hte advice James. I'll be honest and say I have not looked for the control unit as I have only had the car a couple of months. What does it look like?
I have Piano black rather than metal trim.

I think I need to find the control unit and see if I can shift it closer to the remote or relocate the remote perhaps..... does the remote mounting bracket just stick with a double sided sticky pad? Any bad experiences on removing these that I should take note of?
