Hi folks. I'm the proud new owner of an 06 V8V as of Friday. I love the car and was not surprised to see a few names on this board coming from the TVR fraternity. My first question if I may!

My car pull noticeably to the left when change down a gear such as for a roundabout. If i match the revs more it reduces it and it is doesn't happen when I use the brakes on their own. Is this the first of the "they all do that" answers?

Cheers guys and girls.

Pulling on gear change can be tyre pressures.
My last car did it in Andorra and I traced it to a left rear puncture frown
Next port of call would be geometry or binding brakes?

Agree with Mikey K. Most likely geometry.

Seen this a few times were it is not related to the geometry and it has been the tyres themselves, either incorrectly fitted, or different construction as in am9 fitted one side and standard Re050 fitted to the other, the am9 have a stiffer side wall

Thank you for the responses guys... well the answer was.......tyre pressure. The dealer changed the 2 rears for me before I picked the car up. Checked the pressures this morning. Rear left was at 2.4 bar (pretty close to the 2.5 it should have been) but the rear right was 4.1 bar.... yes 4.1 bar! How on earth did they manage that!! No wonder it was pulling left.

Blimey, not good.
Do you not have the tyre pressure monitor system?

I do but my understanding is that it only warns you of low pressure?

My understanding (no doubt Rick will be along to tell me I am wrong!) is its measuring significant differences between all 4 corners of the car, not the actual pressure in the tyre.

Not sure about AM, but I know the BMW system monitors rotational speed on all 4 wheels. After you change a tyre or add some air, you need to reset the system. If you reset the system when the tyre pressures are wrong it will think this is normal and you'll get no warning.

4.1bar, wow, that's almost 60psi!

Nope, It measures and pressure and warns you when it goes below a specific level.
