Well I had quite an interesting day today, attended a Lotus/Aston/Rolls/Bently open day to have a closer look at the Evora S.. With the intention of upgrading the current Evora once the I can justify the depreciation hit to myself laugh

Nice turn out from all 4 departments, and never too many photos, but the one that really caught my eye was the N420 (?) in Quantum Silver.. My god, I'm in love! My main gripe with the Evora is the noise it makes - previous steeds include a TVR and Gallardo - so having a V8 Vantage there, I was an easy target!

Now, someone please talk me out of looking in the PH Classifieds!

Couple of questions.

Did the Vantage ever get an interior change as that was one of the aspects that I REALLY liked. ?
What's the main differences between the N420 and a 'normal' vantage?
4.3 or 4.7? getmecoat
Coupe or Roadster? I'm leaning towards the roadster..
Quick summary or running costs? Tyres/Service/mpg/warranty etc

Thanks in advance for any help..

Nice day out!
Why the hell would we talk you out of it!
The look and the sound are enough smile

Minor tweaks to 4.3 interior (seats, arm rest)
Major change came with the DBS console going in the 4.7
An N420 is an unlimited "Limted Edition" of the 4.7 with a load of the options added and a few cosmetic colour changes to things like the exhaust pipes wink
I'd say roadster but then I'm bias.
Tyres £900 a set
Service ~£500 from main dealer in 3 year warranty a lot less from indies when out of warranty wink
mpg - do you need to ask? wink ( I average 16mpg)

Id defo go Roadster myself...next time...it wasnt out when I got my coupe...roof off you can hear the V8 even more smile

4.3 vs 4.7 ...if you have the cash, 4.7, but its a big price premium still - about £20K ish

compared to the value available sub £50K on a few year old 4.3

running costs, no more than Evora other than fuel

Browse E bay and you will find some cracking deals on a 420 or standard V8V. Bearing in mind these are advertised prices you can only go down from there.;)

No doubt the release of the V8V S has impacted the 420 hardest.

4.7 without doubt. Fuel? Mine has now done 800 miles ! 23 to 25 MPG no problem, at all sorts of speeds! I simply love it.

Is the 4.7 that much better?

I love the colour of that N420, is it limited or new as I can't find many for sale?

Thanks so far.. Agree on the MPG, I'll not do that many miles so not too worried!

Yes, and make sure you try a sportpack car.

Much better still.

drive both and see if YOU think that the 4.7 is £20K (or more) better for the whole experience

also sportpack is a preference, some people just dont drive *that* hard on the road to benefit, and maybe would think it a bit firm for a bumpy B road (think Lotus Elise vs Exige kind of setup)

When I bought my 4.3 they had been out less than a year, so no choice really what you got for your £75K ish, but if I had a pot of £75K in cash right now, Id be really in 2 minds whether to spend £45K on a 4.3 or £75K on the same car with a 4.7

...after all, that spare £30K could buy me a separate, quicker, trackday car as well smile

I drove 2 everyday (literally), over 13K in c12 months, live in the sticks and it was fine.

Lol @ the Cygnet! My mum has an IQ so think we're good wink

Is there any main advantage to buying from an official dealer?
