Ouch!! deep scratch on v8v
Discussion
I stupidly caught my V8V on my garage door frame and it's scratched the wheel arch pretty deep although it's not too long. It's down to the White stuff.
Can anyone recommend someone reputable that may be able to give me a quote on a repair in the Bedfordshire area ?
I know if I took it to Aston they would want to respray the whole car but I don't have the funds for that and am I right in thinking they put around seven coats on.
A well gutted and pi$$$ed off BB :-(

How about the local chipsaway guy, heard he is good but that was a while ago
Just google Aston Martin approved body shop. It will list all the ones the dealers use in your area.
Having said that, having damaged my bonnet and claimed on insurance, got directed to an Aston approved Body shop, and I've had the car go back twice as the finish wasn't great - orange peel effect in the lacquer

Sorry to hear the news, these cars are so wide and hard to place in confined places.
I took a huge chunk out of my first V8's alloy wheel on a small bolt sticking out of the garage door, since then the bolts have been hack-sawed off and carpet stuck to the inside of the doors (yes really!!!)as it's a tight fit!
Best of luck with the repair.

Sorry to hear your news - the approved AM bodyshop is outsourced to a place in Stevenage called Fix Auto (I think until recently they were called MKG).
From what I recall it's the only one approved for miles around in Herts and Bucks.
Sadly had to use them a couple of times and there work is excellent.
You can call Adam on 01438 347 521.

Cheers I think a friend of mine knows Adam so I'll likely contact him to get them to have a look. From what I recall it's the only one approved for miles around in Herts and Bucks.

Heartbreaking!
You have my sympathies as someone who came very close to doing the same thing a couple of months ago. In fact I thought I had because I was stuck on the garage door frame and was expecting to see damage like yours when I finally gave up and got out of the car. But I got lucky because I had turned the front wheel enough it was that caught on the frame. It cost me the price of a refurb but I am guessing that is going to be a lot less than yours.
Hope you get it fixed to your satisfaction.

So that's the front then
With that amount of damage I'd get it properly sprayed
I was thinking nothing more than a proper job!!With that amount of damage I'd get it properly sprayed
But when you say that do you full body or wing??
I'm defiantly not thinking touch up lol...
Hopefully will get the guy down near Stevenage to look at it in next couple of weeks.

I'd steer well clear of Chipsaway... lacquer they use is horrific and paint matching is even worse... Repairs will end up dull within 2 months and falling off within 6... Not sure where you can go, but where ever you go find out what guarantee you get on the repair!
Juleswhere do you get this info from?
Just asking as your surname is the same as a certain person involved with another SMART company that went under last year and you live in the same area!!!
If Chipsaway paints are so bad then why is there a lifetime guarentee on the repair?

Don't worry, its not a big job to repair that. Would be very surprised if it was more than 5-700 squid. But when you say that do you full body or wing??
