Well, I suppose it had to happen sometime, just a little disappointed it was in the first week of ownership. Yesterday the car seemed to suddenly suffer from quite a lot of wind noise on the motorway at normal legal speeds; I put it down to being a wet windy day and blustery wind catching the wipers but no. Far from it, went for a pootle today and the noise returned with an occasional "clunk" over bad surfaces so thinking (don't know why) the windscreen couldn't possible be loose I pressed the top corner of the screen and feck me...it moved out about half an inch. I stopped immediately to investigate and sure enough the whole screen moves out at the top but not the bottom. Bonding gone maybe? Bit st by phoned the dealer and he's never heard of it before and going to "sort it" whatever that means.

2 years with my previous car (Porsche) and not so much as murmur and 4 days into AM ownership it lets me (sort of) down. Anyone had the problem before?

Screen needs to come out and be re-bonded so it's off back to the dealer tomorrow under a warranty claim. Nice salesman has organised dropping off a bright yellow 4.7 whilst the work is being done. What will the neighbours think?

Not unheard of, even for factory fits.

Possible causes:

- product failure (incorrect/insufficient surface preparation;

- glass may be contaminated by use of silicone gaskets used to remove air from between the layers of glass during the manufacturing process.

In some of the worse case scenarios is that an incorrect adhesive was used (this is especially likely if the screen has been replaced).

The AM actually told you there was something wrong by making all that noise (it's like a child screaming. What a great car and very civilised of it to warn you too!
