Hi,
Ive started looking into getting a roadster but would like some pointers to the running costs please.
Road Tax 4.3
Insurance would be a secondary car.
Servicing on a average 6k limit.

Usage would be the same as my current Tuscan.
The Roadster is at the top of my budget so maybe a year too soon.

Thanks for any help.

Road Tax is £435
Insurance... Well, that depends on you and can vary wildly. Ask for some quotes.
Tracker is £250
MOT... As normal but hope it doesn't need any work!!
Servicing... I was told to budget £1000 per year and this is fairly accurate. So far.
Fuel consumption 17 mpg.
Tyres £220 per corner

And I have to say... Worth every penny! It's a fantastic car and it'll be everything you hope and expect.
If you get a chance to own one, I say go for it!!! You only live once!

actually pre March 06 and road tax on my Vantage is £245

£250 a service at indy, £550 for big one every few years

tyres, discs n pads, about the same as a mid range German saloon

fuel about 16-20Mpg avg depending on how much motorway work involved

one of the cheapest luxury sportscars to run, if you stick to indies and are not back at the dealer every week because an engine check light came on wink

Oooooh, will my OBD2 checker read the codes and live data from the car?

Depends on how you drive. I got 4.2mpg instant figure on a few occasions when foot to the floor in 2nd. Drive with a heavy foot and you'll get crappy mileage. But it's worth it!

Glorious car!

Quite scary. Both ex-Lotus owners, now both got V8 and RR. Are we the same people? Do you have a Ducati as well to complete the trio? redface

I know ...would have another Lotus if I could get in/out easier...I have a blue badge these days though...the other half has banned me from bikes too, otherwise yes, I would have a Ducati...or MVA smile

Have had my new Vantage for 1 month apart from being extremely pleased I am surprised by the fuel consumption. She has now completed 700 and odd miles of shall we say allsorts of speeds, at 23.5 mpg! I think that is pretty good. One trip of 70 miles she achieved 25 mpg, that included a play with a 911.

Regarding insurance I would really recommend Hiscox. I am 54 and am paying £895 fully comp. They only insure Aston, Bentley and RR. Plus very nice people to deal with.

Just insured with AMOC through Locktons, AMV8 at 5000 miles for £740 full comp and I'm 34. Very pleased with the service and the package is excellent. Collecting the car in the morning! Not sure I'll sleep.

Good for browsing, but make sure you fully inspect the car before delivery and don't hand over any money until you are fully satisfied. Happy to tell you more about my experiences...

A small point I know re tax but all roadsters are my07 so attract tax at the higher rate.
