DBS everyday use?
Discussion
Hey guys. I'm considering my next car, and I just love Aston's particularly the DBS. But is it reasonable to have a DBS as your daily drive? How many of you do? And if so what sort of distances do you travel each day?
I worried because I dont actually drive that far, some journeys to the shop are like half a mile and I know Lambo's and fessers fuel systems will switch to limp home if you do a few short journeys due to fuel flooding.
People say the 911 is the real option for a daily use supercar, but they seriously lack the style of the DBS.
Advice and comments please.
Thanks

Hey Jus, thanks for that. Why do you find the DBS not suited to daily use?
I think it's just a bit too hardcore for daily use personally, at least in the manual gearbox version. A DB9 is more daily / GT oriented. The DBS has very expensive special tyres and brakes that wear fast too, and I don't think it will be depreciation friendly if you put lots of miles on. As it is it's not a depreciation friendly car at all even if just used as a toy! It's 20" wheels with sprayed on rubber and the lower and more expensive/aggressive bodywork is also less up to the task of daily bombing around car parks, bumps/holes and tight spaces I'd say, and because it's carbon fibre there's no such thing as a small accident or bump, which I imagine will make it more expensive to repair and thus insure.
Other than that the DBS is a flippen phenomenal super-sportscar and I love mine to bits. Of course if you're accustomed to driving a Lotus Exige as a daily or something like that, then the DBS will be like velvet as a daily
PS: One last thought... the satnav is terrible, although this is true of all Astons!

Great points thanks. That carbon fibre up front does worry me greatly. I must say I've been pleasantly surprised with insurance quotes so far, I expected far higher quotes givent the ease of a minor yet very expensive scuff!
