How about cheering ourselves up with stories of great service experiences instead of our usual obsession with bad service? Hopefully there are some great Aston experiences to report but sadly I have not had one yet so mine is from Lexus.

Bought an RX300 4x4 and noticed some pitting on one of the alloys although it was not that bad. At the first service Lexus came to the office to pick up the car and I mentioned to my secretary to let them know about the pitting . Car came back the same day washed and valleted and I thought they had delivered the wrong car - 5 brand new alloys ( including the spare ) had been fitted at no cost and they did'nt even mention the alloys on the receipt. Cost of first service £60 !!Now that is what I call service - and the standard Aston should be aiming for/

I had something similar with a VX220Turbo and had a load of stuff done without quibble.

1. slight pitting on the spokes of the wheels, swapped for 4 new wheels
2. loose stitching on one of the seats, new seat
3. windows wouldn't align with the removable roof, new roof

I was very impressed with the dealers approach.

I had a Porsche 996 C4S that had a clutch that was close to worn out when I bought it, I just didn't realise at the time the clutch pedal really shouldn't feel that heavy. After about six months my left leg started to feel the pain and I decided to hand it over to the local OPC for a replacement clutch. Estimated cost was expected to be around £1000 IIRC and should anything else need rectifying it was still under Porsche extended warranty transferred from the previous owner .

I left it with them and went off to Devon for a few days vacation and on the first day away I got a call from the OPC. The RMS was weeping and needed replacement so they would do the clutch while they had it apart to fix it and waive any labour charges associated with it. Cost to me was the clutch repair kit - around £300 I think.

We had a great vacation break on the savings and I was very impressed with the approach they had taken.

Here's one with a twist wink
Took the V8VR in for a couple of minor warrant bits yesterday.
AM where great, they got the workshop manager to look at each item with me to be sure.
Very curtious and profesional.
Unlike Eurowatch frown
Took me 30 mins and 7 different people to acually put the car in to service mode.
God forbid it actually gets stolen frown
