Hi All,

Firstly, this is NOT an advertisment. I'm just after the views of some current Aston owners.

Basically I brought the number plates below just over a year ago before the '10' plates were released on a bit an impulse buy. I had my eye on a few other's but they were selling fast so made a quick decision....

When I do sell them I will place a premimum advertisment on here, however I've no clue what to ask for them, nor whether they are desirable, so just want opinions first.

P.S Sorry to the mod that removed my last thread, like I say I was not intending to advertise them, just gather opionions as previously stated.

Any feedback much appreciated smile

Regards,

James

My guess would say that you might get a few hundred for them, maybe slightly over what you paid, but to most people who have an AM they would be happy paying more for something more special.

Thanks for the reply, I'm hoping not everyone shares the same view, as I paid close to £1000 from the DVLA. Shambles.

I see what you mean though, something with less characters I'm guessing?

I personally prefer plates which don't need spacing messed with to look good.

I suspect you may struggle to shift these. People with AM's probably have a few more £££ to buy a very good plate rather than a very average one.

No. Sorry, even with mispacing they look crap.

You've actually bought these plates.

"DB10 VED"
"AM10 VED"

I can't see someone paying four figures for them.

Can't see it myself.

I had D14 TVR on my Tuscan, which when I showed it on the club stand at the Bromley Pageant I put on D1 4 TVR, personal to me being Di and liked the Die for TVR inference.

I have now done the same with my D14 AMV plate. I have had D1 4 AMV 'show plates' made up, but only used in a couple of photo's so far.

The car is noticeable enough as it is without encouraging unwanted attention by HM's finest.

Don't take it the wrong way but I feel your plates are trying too hard to be something they aren't.

Sorry

Di

When I bought my DB7 it had these horrible plates on it. Suffice to say they came straight off and the number is now on retention. I tried to sell the number for a few hundred pounds but to no avail so the number will go back on the car when I sell it and transfer my current cherished number on the 7 to the new car.

Try the dealers for the best prices - they'll take a cut of the sale but you'll get many more views than trying to sell via ebay or selling them on a forum & you won't have to outlay anything for an advert. They'll want to get the highest price possible as it means more commission for them!

I've seen a DB9 around where I live with 007 in the plate. I'm guessing and hoping that a well meaning relative bought it for the owner and he/she didn't have the heart to refuse.

Hi James

Personally they don't work for me. I don't mind mis-spaced plates (I often see a Bentley around my way with the plate I LOVE U which makes me smile), however I'm not quite sure what yours are trying to say. AM / DB Loved doesn't make sense to me, but that's just me. Numberplates are very personal and one plate maybe worth nothing to one person but a £100k to someone else.

Why don't you advertise it in the AMOC mag and see if you get any takers? That will be the true litmus test to what they're worth

Good luck off loading them.

James, the thing is most Aston owners have some style and those plates lack it. It's the sort of think an 18 yr old would put on their Clio - you know CL10LOVEMY or something but not on an Aston. Sorry... frown

Cheers for the reply's everyone... wish I hadn't brought them now. Oh well we all do things that we look back on and laugh, and this will be one of them. (once I'm over loosing 2k!!!).

Truth is like I said, I really wanted DB 10VER and AM 10VER which would have been better, however they both went the day before I got round to buying these.

FAIL.

Someone might like them though, that X2 8OND plate gives me hope as in my opinion that's far worse!

As for the dealers selling them though, - is this something all AM dealers do that you have personal experience with or just a few garages?

Thanks again for all the replies,

James
