Damn. I've just bought a big new house. Went straight round after completion to check out our new home. Nice. Only problem, I discovered as I popped out for some shopping, is I can't get the car off the drive without scraping the front spoiler. What do I do now?

Bit annoyed that the surveyor didn't spot this as part of the survey.

How come the car goes on the drive no problem, but scrapes on the way out?

Had the same problem with 911 after I fitted a GT3 front end to it, found I could get on drive as you but scraped on path on way out. Used to try and go down final part of drive at an angle to the road.

Finally, solved the problem by selling th 911 and replacing it the V8 Vantage! Now my issue is that the underside of the car sometimes catches the fixed plate that holds the centre of the gates when closed. Oh well.....

go extremely slow on an angle. If I approach straight on I scrape, if I do a tire at a time....no scrape.

Not sure if you can do it on your drive way, but the only way to do it without blocks is to make your approach at an angle so you lift one front wheel up before the other?

I have the same trouble getting into my garage. I've overcome the problem with 2 short lengths of scaffold planking. Not pretty but only takes a few seconds to put down and take up. My car is not a daily drive so it's not too much hassle and no scraping.

I've just modified my drive by lifting the blocks, adjusting the amount of sand under them, and taking the top off some concrete edgings, using an angle grinder.

Wierdly, mine never caught when i went in forwards, but does when I go in backwards, no idea why!

I just typed out a long and , in my mind, humorous response to all your comments but my wireless link just crashed and the whole lot was lost. Suffice to say, thank you for your comments. Hitting the drive at an angle just about works but space is tight so great care is needed. It works for now.
