Help: Scratches and light dent fix advice
Discussion
Hi, I've recently lightly "brushed" into another car's bumper causing a patch of scratches which I think hasn't gone into the paint layer but more of the top coating. It really hurts me and I am still feeling sick of myself. From the recently "sickener" thread, it made me feel a bit better.
So my question is, for the scratches, can it be corrected with some good detailing paint correction treatment or will it need to be resprayed?
And for the very light dent, I am really hoping it can be fixed and not needing a replacement as it is really minor as the picture will show. The dent is on the back lower bumper just at the joining line between the bottom bumper and the top body. Top body is unaffected.
Your views are much appreciated.
Thanks a lot in advance!

The scratches may polish out with an orbital polisher and a resin based polish, if not then it will need a clear coat respray.
The "dent" looks more like the bumper has come off a clip behind.
The bumper will have to come off to see and correct it.
If not it will be a replacement bumper as it is plastic and not suitable for PDR.
Take it to a reputable body shop, don't let them fob you off with a straight replacement bumper.

Give Mark O'Connor at http://www.superauto.co.uk a call he fixed a garage post graze on my Aston not long after I got it and did a fantastic job. He works on lots of exotic cars..
Thanks a lot for your replies guys. Much appreciated. I'll check them out and get it checked and quoted. So I know I am not "taken for a ride", what do you think would be the range of price that I will be looking at? In terms of the scratches and also the dent repair.
Alan (Blackice): My car is also due for it's annual service (6th year) soon in Feb/Mar. I've read about you here and your dealership seems to be getting good feedback here. I'd be interested in getting a quote for you. Could you give a quote please? Feel free to PM me.
Thanks a lot again for your help guys.
