As another planned TVR mover to the Aston fraternity, I'm looking at stepping into an '07 model. I'm aware of the updates from the '06 and admit to preferring the seat design in the '07, however price wise, the '07 cars seem to be materially more expensive, even taking depreciation, miles, etc into account.
Am I missing something obvious about the '07 model?
Apologies if this is a numpty question.

I have nothing constructive to assist you but thought I would applaud your taste in TVR colour.

Good luck

dont think it makes much difference just to 07

Id either get the cheapest, best spec pre March 06 car (cheap tax) or save for a 4.7

nothing significant IMO happened in between...just bits n bobs

I have previously owned the 06, when I came to sell last year I got a lot of interest and most were not particularly bothered by the 06 vs 07 thing, I do not know why they command so much of a premium.

As bogie says, I would go with the best value car or save for 4.7 when the car changed enough to command a premium.

I prefer the 06 seats.....they seem to fit better, if you are thin.

Seats were the biggest change. I prefer the 07 seats (both aesthetically and from a comfort pov), but YMMV. The seats also had electric latches.

Other changes? Quite small. A few other options were added to the list (think the most "significant" was bluetooth). The LEDs in the door handles actually light up (if you have bad OCD, that might be a clincher).

And, of course, the cars are generally later in the build cycle, so many of the niggles will have been remedied at the factory. Though this should be of limited value - if any car's been looked after properly, it will have had the common niggles fixed as part of its maintenance.

Seats aside, the usual rules apply - buy on condition above everything else.

I think the bluetooth improvement etc came in 2008 MY...

The other difference that was a clincher for me, was the aesthetics of the arm rest with the dodgy cup holder on the early model... the 08 MY has the cupholder in front of the armrest with the folding metal cup divider thing - think it looks considerable better... Just a small thing but made the difference to me.

I needed the dual lumbar support on the later seats, if you've got a bad back it's worth it.

I prefer the original arm rest myself - the new ones, with holes, is very heavy and comes with a leather sponge square for comfort...a lovely afterthought ! LOL wink

..and the early seats are better for me...

actually the later cars, the only thing I would like is better BT telephone and ipod connection...oh and a 4.7 engine would be nice one day smile

Thanks everyone for your insights. Much appreciated. Seems the seat design in the MY07 update wins through, though waiting for the 4.7 prices to slide closer to my budget may be the best option......but I want one now..!!!!!

if you are worried about the performance difference coming from tvr mate, then don't panic.i'm in a v8v my07 and having owned a multitude of tvr's the car doesn't leave me wanting in the performance stakes.sure,a tuscan in a straight line tugs harder but chuck it round the twistys then drive the same route in 4.3 v8v and i guarantee you'll complete your route quicker in the aston.all the talk on the boards is about how much better the 4.7 is and i'm sure it is but in your position now i know i couldn't wait around another 6 months or whatever.
get involved!!this v8v is undoubtedly the best car i have ever owned by a country mile.i will be 4 years into it by next march and the car is still an occasion for me every time i start it up.you'll never get bored.!!

There's plenty on the classifieds board, however, I'm going to be looking to sell my MY07 in January.

However, as I need as much as possible for it, it's easier on my soul to haggle with a dealer than a fellow PH'r who clearly just loves their cars !
