It is Sunday night, 3 days before my new first Aston Martin is delivered . I cannot begin to describe how I am feeling. Too much wine I expect. This whole Aston thing began about 10 months ago after a test drive at Broughtons in Cheltenham. I have spent the last 20 odd years in the motor trade . I was not going to be lurred into the fold. Too late !After a succession of track days , factory visits plus meeting Aston owners the deed was done. I am now worrying can I get it into the garage? which has been insulated plus the floor raised. Is the ramp correct? The floor tiles cannot be fitted because it is to damned cold. I wake up at 3 am thinking about the car . If my lovely tolerant wife new the spec of the thing she would go mad! Can I share it with you Guys? There is no other car that I would ever consider for more than a Nano second . Sad or Glad! Help!!!!!!!
I'm in the same situation with delivery Tuesday/Wednesday dependant upon the weather.
It's my first Aston and last weekend I travelled for an hour to the dealer just to get my Aston fix. The ownership experience hasn't even touched me yet but it's the small things that have been in the build which added pleasure. The dealer emailing photo's of the car and personalised sills. Being asked by the insurance broker where the vehicle will be kept. My reply "The Aston will be in the garage, oh hold on a minute please, let me savour that moment and repeat it slowly..the Aston will be in the garage".
Driving is out of the question for me until the snow and ice have cleared up so the next best thing will be sitting in my garage looking at my new baby from every angle, savouring the anticipation until our first journey together. I reckon I'll last about a week!
Good luck with your delivery.
