V8V at this time of year
Discussion
Although I have an X5 as my practical vehicle, tip runs, big snow, running the labrador around etc, I have been using my Vantage quite a bit through some of the snow/ice thats been coming down over the past few weeks and I have to say, it's not as bad as I thought it would be. It's actually alright, quite fun sliding it around and no scary moments.
Coming from a 4WD 911 which loved these conditions I though the Aston would be a bit unmanageable but all credit to the car, it's fine and could be run throughout winter IMO.
Good news really as I love driving it...

it is a bit of a worry coming up to a junction and the car tries to just go straight through it on tick over as you apply the brakes!
Just managed to clean mine and get it dried and in the garage in between snow coming down. My neighbours must wonder what the hell I'm doing as at one point it was just covered in snow as I stood out there with cleaning mitt and bucket going round and round wiping the dirt (and snow) off. I thought, this is not going well.

Drove my V12V home lunchtime as threats of Arctic conditions worried me slightly. No problems! Picked up standby car, Fiat Panda. I decided to use a well known cut through.
Result... Trashed it into the kerb on snow covered black ice. It was either the kerb or a parked car.
Further result, £107 for a new wheel. I guess I should be thankful it wasnt the Aston.
Be careful out there guys.

Edited as I couldnt spell Arctic. Doh!!!

I take this back.
Snow on ground, just went outside. 1mph and sideways I went, and continued going, and a bit more.
Then having got away without hitting anything I left it there.
I think you're not far from me work wise (Old St)?? Treacherous around there even on foot this afternoon...Snow on ground, just went outside. 1mph and sideways I went, and continued going, and a bit more.

Tried to get out of my garage at lunchtime today and it was a no hoper so just reversed back in. Went out again this evening and it was a little bit more fun; totally safe if needs be but if you wanted to be stupid there wasn't much stopping you; obviously with a piece of kit like this it wasn't worth risking anything so it's tucked back in again.
