Spent the morning up at Gaydon on a factory tour - what a great experience. I thought I loved my car but upon leaving and seeing my Vantage waiting in the car park I felt I knew every inch of the car that much better. If you get the chance to go I'd recommend it!

It's something I would like to see - is it available to customers / owners only?

I'm not certain but I imagine you're right, unless special circumstances were involved.

How do you find out how to do it? I would certainly be very interested but my brief Googling coupled with restrictive internet access isn't helping me find much.

I was offered it when purchasing my car through the dealer network. Took a few months to come around. Not sure where you would have bought your vehcile from but as an owner perhaps it's something you can get on.

Hmm ok, it was used from Bentley Broughtons Pangbourne, but there is an Aston Martin dealership in their network so will ask them - thanks for the heads up because it sounds thoroughly worth doing.

I also did it a few weeks back, you do appreciate your car more when you see the detail of how a hand built car is put together (like seeing a row of ladies with sewing machines stitching the leather for example!)

Shmee - I'd definately give them a call and see if it's possible.

I went with a friend thinking there would be a few people going around with us but was pleasantly surprised to realise that we would be taken around on our own which was good. The gentleman found out I owned a Vantage and throughout the entire visit focussed on elements specific to my car as well as covering the entire range.

I've had a few issues with mine which I told him about and on the way round he spent the time discussing those particular issues in front of where the technicians were installing those actual components which I appreciated.

Plus - Spent a bit of time looking over 2 1-77 body shells - absolute craftsmanship!

I don't suppose they allow photographs to be taken there for all to share
(we wouldnt want to give any secrets away to those Germans car builders now would we)

No photos allowed. Thought it's not much different to the other supercar ones tbh (excl Pagani who would *really* blow your mind, the way they do things).

Went to Gaydon for the home coming. Really interesting tour. I'd either try calling the factory direct, or a dealer to ask about visits. I would expect it harder to get one if you don't own an Aston, but who knows.

That album implies you can take pictures.

I did the factory tour in february and i can confirm, definitely no photography is allowed.our tour guide even got jumpy when people pulled their mobile phones out of their pockets.
Quite how that guy got away with it is another matter.

And swiftly back on topic,a factory visit is extremely worthwhile, even to an employee like myself smile
