Why no interest in my Aston, its stunning and a bargain!!

Hope thats not one of the photos in the ad. Doesn't do anything for the real colour, makes it look a lot darker than real life.
Its one of those marmite colours so needs decent photos to really highlight it - I remember seeing a photo before of yours - in a street, bright sunlight, car looked stunning. My brother has a RR Sport in that colour, hence I remeber your photo, as I couldn't believe just how fantastic the colour was on the Aston.

The colour's not going to be universally liked at all, so your pictures need to be absolutely spot on top capture it.
You'll likely find a buyer eventually, but it's either going to take time or have to be a proper bargain (owners are rarely honest with themselves on what constitutes a bargain).

A quick google and.... I assume this is your car :

In terms of price at £46k for a private sale it looks a bit expensive to me as its very close to the price to a few main dealer cars of a similar age/spec and they are in a colour that will be far more attractive to the majority of buyers. A main dealer will sell the car with a warrenty and part-ex a buyers old car so they will always get a good chunk more for a car than a private seller can.
Having said all that, to me the biggest put off would be the interior - I could possibly love the external color once I had seen it in the flesh, but those two tone seats and steering wheel are OTT to me
I suspect you might need to drop a few grand off the price to shift it in that colour combo...
Sorry, but Im just giving you feedback as you have asked why it isnt selling.

I actually quite like the colour too, suggest some pics taken on a bright sunny day would be better as that pic looks like it was taken on a cloudy day.
Second hand prestige cars can take time to sell, my Boxster took some 4 months, during most of that time I had no interest at all, in the end I sold it for less than I wanted but got out of it ok. Hope you sell it soon.

You need to do some solid research if you want to sell it.
There are plenty of cars available at dealers with similar spec etc etc, but much, much more readily saleable colour combinations for less than you're asking (in the 44k-45k range). It's no good noting price is "negotiable", no one will call in the first place.
IMO you need to be at least 2k less than a dealer, probably more like 3k-4k to make someone tempted enough to buy. And then you need to consider the colour combo - sorry to bang on about that, but it will impact the time it takes to shift the car, and wrapping it etc will make little difference - price the car so that someone can do that themselves if they so wish without loss.
If I were you, I'd call a dealer to see if they'd make a bid on it (steel yourself). Then look at the prices of comparable cars on the net (don't get hung up on the odd extra here or there. It's a broad comparison you need). Then pitch your car between the two, and towards the lower end. I would guess it'll be a long way from you're asking now though...

I still think you will be waiting a while, as you have a niche appeal colour combo, on a niche market car, which is always going to mean waiting for just the right buyer ...thats just how it is, with any car, if you choose a non mainstream colour combo
If you want to sell sooner, Id ring a dealers/trader and get the price to take it off your hands..you may be surprised as you are going to have to discount it to real "bargain" prices to get people interested, the trade price may not be hugely different

I love the external colour and would have jumped at this if I was after a coupe
But the minute I saw the interior I was put off and I like colours like this!
The biggest issue inside is the dual colour wheel.
Might be worth seeing what can be done to dye the wheel and or the seats?

Thanks all for the advice. Seems that the interior colour is the main issue so time to change it
I think the seats are fine so don't rush out to change them but if you can get the leather redone on the wheel that would help a lot.Edited by SLacKer on Wednesday 17th November 11:17
