I have just bought a 2009 V8 4.7. Lovely car. I took it to Grange Brentwood to have 2 things fixed.

Loose handbrake sleeve - fixed with glue
Fogged up headlights - "they all do that, sir"

So AM not that different to TVR then!

I do hope that was tongue in cheek wink

They are worlds apart. At least when I drive the Aston I am pretty confident I will get where I am going to.

I used to offer sacrifices to the Gods before setting off in my Tuscan.

Parked next to an F430 in Selfridges yesterday. The two black cars looked quite fetching together, both with their fogged-up headlights.

No, I'm keeping this one, it's fixed now. They used the special expensive glue.

Tut Tut DI, nono After 8yrs of cerbera ownership i have only had to replace a starter motor and a clutch. It has never let me down or broken down and I only hope the my Aston will be as reliable as my cerb.

No fogged up headlights or glue failure on my Tuscan smile

Quite fancy a db9 as an every day car, how reliable are they?

I have the foggy headlights every so often too. Had water ingress in the rears that required replacement but the fronts glaze over a little

My TVR chimeara started every time, first time for three years, throughout the winter and summer!

As previous post, i hope My DB7 i6 starts as easy as the TVR. I must admit, for a start, I wondered how reliable it might be.
If you want to know about lack of reliability, My 29k mile TD5 Freelander broke down 9 times in ten weeks !!!!!

As to comparing TVR ownership with an Aston DB7, there is a vast gap in the build quality for the TVR.
Most TVR's brake down due to lack of checking everything on a regular basis. I cleaned the connectors for all the ignition to keep it reliable. I do not consider it required for the Aston.
The chimeara was more 'in your face' but the Aston comands respect in a different way.

I can drive the Aston gently around, but with the TVR it was a different feeling to the DB7.
Having not had a modern Aston, I suspect they may just be performance wise, more simular to a TVR with a ripping loud engine? But remember, a Tuscan 0-60 in 3.8 secs is quick.

I'm looking forward to next year as I used to do most of the big car shows with the TVR.

It would be nice next year to see more Aston Martin's at the top shows.

Helmingham hall, (Posh car show) would be great for a large number of Aston's to be there ??
Beautiful grounds, Posh house with a mote! and even a small version of the festival of speed up the drive way. i'm getting carried away, maybe i'll organise that myself!!!!!!
who would be interested ?

Yes, it was tongue in cheek. I have one each and I love them both. My RS6 (2 years of ownership), however, has spent more time at the menders that 12 years of TVR ownership.

You perhaps didn't read my year in the life of a Tusc Mk2 ownership on the TVR forum. Whilst loving the car it spent more time in the dealer for stupid things than on the road. The indicator stalk falling off time after time for one.

Hey not knocking TVR, I had two for five years, but just saying I have more faith in AM.

Ahhh there is your problem....using your indicators! Silly mistake to make.....at the end of the day they didn't need to know what is happening if they are behind you as you would have just screamed past them leaving them in a cloud of road dust listening to your deep hearty roar of your TVR....
