Last night, reversing in to the garage the rear parking sensors were on permanently as soon as I engaged reverse gear.

I'm hoping this is an isolated incident and not related to any water ingress problems during the bad weather.

Has anyone else had the same problem re parking sensor failures?

My first part failure in nearly 5 years isn't bad going i suppose (touch wood).

They sometimes do this when wet. I've often had it after washing the car. They're always ok after it's properly dry

Is it water ingress then or just surface water confusing them?

same here - most often happens when wet after washing or heavy rain if outside ....water gets in somewhere and upsets them ...

You'd think they'd have little fans inside to keep them clear!

I had this happen on a Navara pick-up that I had. The parking sensors just needed a good clean with an alcohol wipe and it fixed the problem. A cotton wool ball and some neat tequila may do the job bandit

If I am correct these work by using ultra-sonic. so I guess water on the outside could reflect the signal right back.

A wipe with a dry cloth might do the trick something absorbent rather than a cloth that might just smear the water around.

I have these on our Jag and to be honest I have never had them go off like this.. they do pick up the odd twig or kerb but never when wet.

It might be a particular brand that does this then?
