Alan if myself or one of my team have left this under the bonnet I can only apologise it is unacceptable, could you pm me your reg as I want to see firstly who replaced it and secondly who did the qc, I can assure you anything like this I take extremely seriously,
Rick
Sorry Rick, misunderstanding. The thermostat was replaced at Amersham and my tongue in cheek comments were aimed at Alan (the Service Manager there) as I knew he'd be reading as we had already discussed another matter. In any event they didn't leave the part in my car anyway as I have seen the pic of the thermostat that came out when they replaced it and it was clearly intact. So now I am wondering how the part happened to be dropped down behind my grill as I cannot believe the car has gone through two thermostats!Rick

It was a few weeks ago now it was done and I cannot honestly remember if I saw the actual part that came off my car or just the picture of it. Can I be 100% sure that the picture was of my old thermostat? No of course I can't. It could have been a picture of any ruined stat. Could the part have fallen off after the pic was taken? I assume so. But like I said, I have no reason to doubt them.
