Its an Aston Martin Vantage with a V12 engine.
So what do you think its going to be like?
It is fantastic.... wonderful, wonderful, wonderful... (Thanks to Clarkson for a for once spot on analysis)
"it's a full on sports car"... (American accent - courtesy of Jay Leno)
The storm broke and the car arrived at dawn this morning. I told the driver he would have to wait as I needed to inspect in the light. My V8V and Harley were sadly shut away into the trailer.
My initial exuberance was then tempered as I noticed the front number plate back plinth was still on even though I specifically asked for it to be removed and the plate lowered.
It always happens to me, something, even minor has to go wrong.
To cut a long story short when my OH spoke to the dealer it got quite heated which also spoilt my dream day a bit. I don't like nastiness.
Anyway OH has fixed the plate and yes she is absolutely stunning. Aston are getting tight these days, they dropped the leather key cases a couple of months ago so God help you if you drop the crystal. I may have inadvertently kept my old cases though
1st startup. My God what a noise.... She growls and snarls like an enraged tiger. I went out to the motorway, the gearbox is so slick compared to my old one.
This car flies, the growling overcoming the sublime B&O sound system. Then I remembered the sport button.... Oh my God!!!!!!!!!. Not a hope in hell in retaining my licence!
The power of this engine is unbelievable and I am going to have to learn respect very quickly. The acceleration is breathtaking combining with the ever present beast howling to be let out from under the bonnet.
A more demure drive ensued, but no less enjoyable. I cant wait for my PDC to really learn to, if not tame her, at least get her to give me a modicum of respect.
What more can I say?
It is by far the most rewarding driving experience I have had. The engine built by Satan and the rest of the car sculptured by Angels.
I think you could say I quite like my car, well just a bit.
One more thing... I had the Armourfend fitted and it is virtually invisible so I would definitely highly recommend to anyone considering having it done.
Oh and sorry no pics yet as it was a bit of a dull day with drizzle. I want to show her at her best.
Thanks so much for everyones good wishes and support. You guys and gals are fantastic.
A very very very happy Di

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. If you can't have one yourself (at least for the moment), honestly, the next best thing is someone who APPRECIATES it getting one. Put some pics up just when you have a chance - we understand that you may be a little tied up.
In the meantime I will check out Jay Leno again. I can't watch the Clarkson review, it brings tears to my eyes.

I could easily be around, was thinking of going to the Walter Hayes Trophy races at Silverstone at the weekend but it is on both days and either would be ok. Let me know if you are likely to be around and I'll go on the Saturday. x
