Hi,

I'm a new owner of a 2007 V8 Vantage with around 34K miles on the clock. The service light has just come on and I was wondering what kind of costs to expect for this and if people recommend taking back to the dealer for the service or somewhere else?

Thanks all!

I've never seen the service light! Its supposed to be serviced every 10,000 miles or 12 months (whichever comes first) - when was yours last serviced? As to Aston Dealer or Independent, there are lots of threads about this topic, so if you read them you'll get a flavour. The long and short of it is Aston dealers cost more (65%-100%) than Independents but you get to say 'Full AMSH'. I take mine to an Independent (Rick at DMS) who also is mentioned on(and contributes to) many threads here.

1. Read the manual
2. Call dealer(s) for quote.
3. errr....struggling ot make it more complicated than that!smile

Have a look in your service book , its about 3/4 to the back , see what service was last done , as every service is different.

Then we can start giving you a idea on the cost.

What service is it telling you to have?

Presumably this is a message in the panel in the rev counter? And presumably this is the first time YOU'VE had to do a service rather than the car being serviced?

Thanks for the replies. I've checked the service book and I'm due for the 4th Year/40,000 mile service. Have been quoted £1200 by the dealer.

Ouch , you need to talk to other dealers, i can do it alot cheaper than that.

They've also just fitted the clear rear lights to my 06 V8V and i saved £450 compared to the dealer.... and the service was fantastic.. ok, its an hour and a bit away from me as opposed to 200 yards from my dealer but the saving is significant enough.. smile

How in the hell did you manage that , its only half a hour to fit , and the parts , are what they are.

Works service seem to be a bit expensive compared to most dealers. It's usually around the £1000 - £1100 bracket for that job.
