Engine Oil seal

My 2005 4.3 vantage is in for service. Dealer has picked up oil seal on bottom of engine that is leaking oil onto crossmember. Apparently AM want to send an engineer to inspect before agreeing its covered by warranty. I am surprised they want to inspect before giving go ahead

Has anyone else had this problem and woudl you expect it to be covered by AM extended warranty?
