1 week into V8V ownership it's time to let Mr Shunt have a spin, she's fairly petite and needs the drivers seat moving fully forward. When we tried to set going she couldn't release the handbrake, or I thought she was struggling with it as the dash light stayed on - mild row ensues.

After a bit of thought and swapping seats, it appears that the warning light won't go off when the seat is fully forward, even when the handbrake is disengaged as you are rolling. With the seat fully forward, handbrake on, then release handbrake - light stays on, move the seat back 2 inches, light goes off! very odd. I've removed the handbrake cover to look at the switch contact and cannot see anything obvious.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue or should I get a taller wife? wink

Taller wife!
me and the OH (Aston Annie) both drive the V8Vantage, and whilst I refer to her as stumpy, she doesn't need the seat all the way forward so can't really help. Must get memory seats in the next one

Its more than likely the sensor at the back of the handbrake, when you have the seat forward ,reach to the back of the handbrake and pinch it .

this will do until a dealer can look at , for a little adjustment.
