On the lookout for a 2+2kids

997 gen2 turbo ticks most of the boxes but question is, are the rear seats useable?
I rememer borrowing a DB9 when they first came out and thought they were too tight.

As much as I love AM, I have to say that the seats in the rear of a 997 are more useable than those in the rear of a DBS.

Had the feeling that may have been the case. Easier to ask on here rather than waste a dealers time. Thanks.

I have both a 997tt and until recently a DB9 (now a V12 Vantage). The Porsche is a 4 seater saloon compared to the rear space in the DB9.

DB9/S rear seats are pointless for anything but the smallest child I reckon.

Definately a complete waste of time. Infact I was talking to AM Works about having them removed!

Why don't you ask a child with an interest in cars and ask them which they prefer. You may be surprised what they will be happy to sit in. They may for example find a Turbo more comfortable than a C2, and some will find a DBS even more comfortable than that.

When I was a lad me and my two brothers (one of whom captained a 1st XV) offered to sit in the back of an MGB GT if my mum would have bought one.

Don't forget the Rapide, there are some amazing deals on these at the moment if you are buying new pre-registered/demo, it's still good to drive!

I fit a four year old behind my wife and an 18 month old behind me. It's tight, but it works. I would have swapped to a Rapide next year, as the younger one will be too big, but impending arrival of third child scotched that.

The Aston customer guy with whom I had my Rapide test drive said that I was the second potential Rapide customer that week who'd said the same thing to him.

Anyway, there appear to be no manual DBSs with the +2 option in the country. I saw one in Paris a couple of weeks ago though.

When the 18 month old is behind me, I have to move my seat forward a couple of inches. It's not as comfortable as my normal position, but it's absolutely fine for driving (I'm 6'2").

I was more thinking of if I ever sell it, mine is an MY10 Manual with +2s. Back seats or no back seats, having just spent a day at millbrook, i cant ever see myself wanting anything else!
