just to make life more complicated they go and bring this out
brand new one of these vs used V12V hard top, it's a tough call.
looks amazing

hmmm, not really. The N420 is an improvement over a normal V8 but still basically the same car. Test drive a V12 and you will see that its a huge step up and it feels like a whole different car.
That said if you are waiting for a V12V roadster then I guess this is as good as it gets (for now!)

the problem is I prefer new cars and I like convertibles.
that's where it all gets tricky.
I have been waiting for the V12V roadster but it's likely to be £140+k and I'm not very comfortable with that.
It would have to be perfect for me in every way (ie produce 550bhp @ 7400).
If I get another car and it costs north of £100k it has to be an absolute keeper.

As Adam says the N420 is not a world of difference to the standard 4.7. Like you I really want a V12V Roadster but when it arrives it will be a good few years until it drops into my price bracket.
You could buy a superb standard second hand 4.7 aka mine while you wait for the V12V to come to life.

Yep but there is an "exculsive" range on them as well.
I saw a black with red fleck N420 at Gaydon on the Homecoming looked really good (though it was super clean )
BTW everything that is on the N420 is an option in the standard 4.7 other than a few cosmetic flourishes like graphite exhaust tips

According to the N420 brochure carbon black is the standard offering, but Tungsten grey and Quantum Silver were also availble.
Then Aston is becoming Porsche. Carbon Black special editions - special for a month then not special anymore. I love the brand but surely they risk upsetting owners who pay large for a special edition only to canabalise it two months later for sales.
AM have to sell cars to stay in business if this means that they have to bring out "special editions" to sell the quantities they need and then copy some of these features on to other models such as the N420 to increase sales I am all for it as too may british car companies have already gone to the wall.

The black with the red fleck must be Storm black, have seen a few DBS in this colour, looks nice. Have to say the 420 didnt excite me in the slightest having driven it, V12V well thats another matter! Have even turned down a n420 roadshow and drive at the local dealer. Each to their own of course. I saw a black with red fleck N420 at Gaydon on the Homecoming looked really good (though it was super clean )
