Had my rear wheels rebalanced (when new tyres went on) and where the old weights used to be, there are large chunks of something looking like black tape stuck to the alloy which I cant get off - any ideas?

Hi,
Wd40 will work aswell and it is not as harsh as thinners. Or you could use gentle heat with a hair dryer.

Agreed. Soak the black tape and leave it for 5 minutes. a few applications and it should wipe off without an damage to the wheel.

I use this http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/autosmart-... or pop into your local Halfords and pick up some Autoglym Tar and Glue Remover
