.........and I was being nice, letting some kids have a look at the V8V. Smack, oh I've just dropped my mobile phone on the edge of your bonnet and left a tiny indentation on the nose which you can just about see in the right light. Grrrrrrrrr! But I calmed down - these cars are for using and these things will happen unfortunately.

Then, emission system service required so booked in at Aston next Weds. Luckily it is under warranty! Anyway I am not going to let these little things spoil such a fantastic car.

Luke.

just get a cheap ODBII reader and reset the light yourself if its not anything untowards.....saves the hassle of going to a dealer all the time, and only takes 5 mins

Yeah I figured it was nothing but the service guy said it could be a sensor or something. And it gives me an excuse to drive the car! The car is pulling just fine and it seemed to just open up at start up and throw this fault. And nice car Bogie - I went for onyx black myself and am already itching to clean it!

It's nothing to do with sensors. Mine did that and they changed a lambda sensor and presented me with a bill for +/- £300. When I said warranty he looked a bit hacked off.

Just drive your car as normal over the next couple of days and the message will vanish - it's something to do with a change of driving style.

If in doubt call Riok at DMS.

Welcome to the Aston onwnership.

Thanks Springbok. I figured I'd book it in anyway and see what happens over the next few days. I was hoping it would just disappear in the meantime as it seemed odd it happened to come up the day I picked the car up. Does the car adjust itself once it gets used to my driving style and realise it's not actually a problem after all?

The car has been through Lancaster, Reading for 3 of its 4 services so they know it well and didn't even consider anything but a claim under warranty when I mentioned it. Will wait and see what happens and if it does need to go in, make sure the warranty will cover it.

Yep I'd bet that light has come on due to the change in driving styles, after a few cycles it will go off. The ECU will "learn" your driving style and adapt to it although if you spend a lot of time driving around town then one day decide to take it for a hard drive on country roads then the light may come on again.

Oxygen sensor required. Under warranty so no problem. Cheers for the input chaps.
