She just won't use it
Discussion
My darling Wife bought a new DB9 in Nov 07 and she's managed to clock up an amazing 1100 miles.
She won't sell it cos she says she's already done a load of dough and its not worth selling now.
She won't use it cos she doesn't want to damage it or get it dirty.
I've told her its probably doing more harm than good sitting in the garage not turning a wheel and she won't let me take it for a spin to get things rolling.
Any suggestions?

Thought you were a troll, then checked your garage!
However,1100 miles since new - would worry me about buying a car with so few miles (know it isn't for sale - just my first thought). Now outside of manufacturers warranty, would be worried any Aston 'foibles' had not been found yet.
What to do?
Offer to clean it for her when she gets it dirty?
Find out why she doesn't really drive it - she may not be able to see the edges and be worried about getting through gaps, parking etc. 18 mnoths on OH is still worried about not being able to see the corners of the Vantage, worried about kerbing it, parking it etc. Keep telling her to drive it more.

It really is a dollar and cents issue. Its value may have dropped since it was bought, but it won't get any better, the value will just go down further. You are also paying insurance on it and if anything goes wrong out of warranty, you'll have to pay to fix it before selling it.
So in the end, if its not going to be driven, its a simple dollar equation:
Current cost of car = what you paid, minus what you can sell it for now, plus insurance costs you've paid so far, plus maintenance costs you've paid so far
Future cost of car = Current cost of car, plus the further depreciation until you do sell it, plus the insurance costs until you sell it, plus the maintenance costs until you sell it, plus the repair costs until you sell it.
You never gain anything by keeping a car you don't drive.

Offer it to a hire company and get some return on it
Possibly the only option worse than keeping it and not using it!Check out the thread where the guy's car was spanked.
IMO, if you want to get money from a car by hiring it, start your own hire business and understand the risks
