Anyone tried this? On the Vantage I just had the baffles opened and oh what a joy. Wondered what the outcome was on a DBS....

I believe it can be done - seen people on amoc forums who have said they have done it. That said I was told by a dealer today they they didnt think that V12 Vantage had a fuse 22? Doesnt make sense to me if you can do it on DBS then I think V12V should have one too?

Anybody confirm that V12 has a fuse 22 also?? (Sorry to slightly hijack your thread but I suspect the answer is the same for both cars anyway)

The V12 Vantage has the same fuse as the DBS but it also has a sport button which opens the valves earlier - a nice halfway compromise. I've had the fuse out and it is indeed epic - louder than the DBS.

just don't decorck it for too long, as the valves get stuck open forever; better drive decorcked for a week and then fit the fuse again for a few days... otherwise dealer will charge a lot of quid to free the stuck exhaust valves... or leave them open forever and get a divorce and all your neighbours drag you to court - unless they're PHers!!!

Even if it isn't I can think of one good reason to put the fuse back in! smile

My personal choice is never to take the fuse out. Like the sound of the cars as they are, at the revs they make.

If I wanted to make a statement of how loud my car is, I'd get a flash red fezza, or puke green Lambo.

Comm'on guys, AM's are meant to be gentleman's motorcars of discretion, taste and leisure!

I ran my 4.7 V8VR with out the fuse for 2 weeks
Then I put it back in for the stealth effect and motorway comfort.
Creep up at 3.5k rpm in silent mode then floor it and all hell breaks lose! smile

It's still a tad quiet with the fuse out.

Agreed, I've just got a Larini on mine to try for a bit... Startups on cold mornings are still shockingly brutal! biggrin

yes

I've had a Quicksilver for a month or so.

It's loud enough now.

Am tempted to try the Quicksilver too. The Larini has a higher note to it, the Quicksilver seems to have quite a deep bassy timbre based on YouTube videos I've seen...

Well I collect my new V12V tomorrow afternoon and I have asked for fuse 22 removing before I collect.

I will report back on the soundtrack in due course...
