Has anyone got one of these main dealer service plans? On a V12V, you basically pay for 3 years servicing over 18 months interest free resulting in an average annual cost of just over £1000.

Does this sound like a good plan?

whats 3 years servicing? 3 x 10K services? what does it work out to per service and total?

whats included and what isnt?

what about if you do 20K miles a year instead, is it an 18 month plan?

For V12V I was offered by Stratstone the 3 year service package (ie 3 services) for £3,722.55 made up of 1 payment of 128.47 and 28 payments of 128.36. The 2 year package (2 services) was £2,618.30 made up of 1 payment of 154.14 and 16 payments of 154.01.

The price is not fixed for VAT purposes and will flex up to the 20% vat rate on payments made from 01 Jan 2011 notwithstanding the plan is taken out now.

The voucher is only redeemable at the specific dealer/dealer group issuing it not all AM dealers.

If AM vary service intervals or change the spec of recomended service any uplift in costs is not covered (ie it only covers AM's recomended service obligations at date of commencement of plan).

If you require the service significantly earlier than anticipated or exceed AM's recomended service interval mileage per annum, they can charge such additional amount as they determine on 1 month's notice.

Anyway given Grange charge 850, 995 and 925 (total £2,770) for services 1 2 and 3 for a V12V, the price was ridicoulous from Stratstone for a plan.

The sort of detail bogie mentions is definitely needed before you can make a judgement call.

IMO the cost isn't a discount on what I'd expect 3 services to cost anyway to be worthwhile (I think my first 3 services were about 2.5-2.6k). Though mine is a V8 (wouldn't have thought the difference in servicing cost would be that much greater.

I wasn't offered one but it doesn't sound like a good deal anyway. It is just a payment smoothing option that appears to carry no financial benefits.

Thanks for the replies.

So what is included in a 12k annual service - oil, oil filter, air filter. Are the spark plugs changed annually? What else is changed?
